Hopwood Cellars Winery
Producer of premium wine
12 E Cedar Street
Zionsville Indiana 46077
I am Ronald W. Hopwood, and I have been producing wine since 1996. It was not until 2005 when Hopwood Wines won numerous awards and hit premium status. Since then my wines have been highly awarded, winning over 100 trophies and medals at very prestige International wine competitions.
My love and dedication to wine comes through in every bottle I produce. I am persistent, serious and although extremely passionate about wine, I know that “without persistence, passion is just a dream”. I work very hard each day perfecting this craft, and I also enjoy talking with all the customers in the tasting room. Making the sale is all about good customer service, good pricing, great packaging and of course, the best taste.
The persistence in me, is not to just make others happy with great wine, but to leave a living legacy. The winery dream started to become an obsession when both of my children were born. I am strong and want to work hard so that they may reap my rewards and carry on my dream after me. I am now in the stages of purchasing acreage to plant grape vines and move the winery to a larger location. Another part of the future and legacy for Hopwood Cellars Winery to live on for 200 years. Most wineries do not have this long of a plan, not me, the Hopwood name will live on for many generations. But to do this, I must brand the name. I plan to do this by setting myself apart from all others, by producing the best wines with the best service than anyone else.
Hopwood wines are quite different from other wines. I believe in producing wines from the most perfect grapes grown here in the region. Hopwood wines are not full of additives and watered down. These wines are full flavored, premium wines. Perfect balance, of oak, tannin, alcohol and of course juice. Hopwood wines appeal to the higher end customer. They are not mass produced they are nurtured each day by the wine makers.
My wines are not only different because we use the best grape, but I also believe in using the best cork closure. Our corks will protect the wine for 10+ years, should you want to cellar your bottle. I also understand that having an attractive label is key to the customer choosing a Hopwood wine over another wine next to it on the shelf. After 4 years of research and design, I found the perfect label. My labels tell a short history of the town where the wine is produced. The label also explains some notes and flavors the consumer may experience. Some labels will mention what the wine pairs well with. The labels are informative and elegant.
I work daily with each wine, machines do not produce them, but by the hand of the wine maker and my team. A wine is not considered ready for the customer until it has been through numerous test and considered worthy and perfect.
I keep up with the demand, and will always fill the order, as my team projects 6 months ahead so we do not miss a sale. When a wine is close to perfection, we have what is called a “round-table”, this is where the entire staff, and we invite 2 customers to join in a circle, taste, and discuss each wine in detail. My team and I will then take this information and decide whether a wine is ready to be bottled and sold.
Hopwood Cellars Winery opened in 2012 to the public. The growth is spectacular, within 4 years selling over 2000 cases a year, and a growth of 30% each year. We have recently opened our wines to wholesale and distribute ourselves and also through distribution, a large wine distributor in the Midwest. We expect our growth to continue. We are ready!
I want your business and I look forward to hearing from you!
